The Kokofu Traditional Council is one of the ancient and respected traditional authorities within the Ashanti Region of Ghana. With centuries of cultural heritage, it plays a significant role in preserving customs, traditions, and the identity of the Kokofu people. The council traces its origins to the foundation of the Asante Kingdom and has since held a vital position in the chieftaincy structure of Asanteman.
👑 Our Role
As the governing traditional institution of the Kokofu area, the council oversees the installation of chiefs, resolution of disputes, land administration, and the enforcement of customary laws. It also serves as a unifying body for the various towns and communities under its jurisdiction.

🧭 Our Structure
The council is led by the Omanhene (Paramount Chief), supported by divisional and sub-divisional chiefs, queen mothers, and elders. It operates through traditional committees and councils that address chieftaincy, land, development, and cultural affairs.
